Imagine your life filled with courage, abundance, resilience, happiness with you as a source of inspiration for others. Fear becomes your ally. Choices originate from a new way of thinking. Truly feeling and knowing that you are good enough, and so are others. Events of your life, grim as they might be, have been integrated. Imagine that everything contributes to who you really are and that you enjoy it! Imagine that you are a shining example for others. Imagine....
To make your dreams into reality I use different methods, techniques and programs. I always act in accordance with the CARES principles, meaning Commitment, Abundance, Resilience, Excellence and Service. These are the principles that guide me in my life and work, and that support me (and you) to remain balanced.
1 on 1 coaching - Do you need someone who listens, a source of inspiration? Are you ready for something new, something different in your life? Are you walking in circles and do you want to get out? Are you ready to break with old patterns, free yourself from something from the past and is it time to show who you really are? Do you want to discover what you can offer in your relationship, future relationship, family, work and environment? Do you want to take action and then discover that you are finally living the life you want? Contact me to see what is possible. No obligations.
Enneagram Coaching - In this 1 on 1 coaching I use the ancient, psychological (&) East meets West, Enneagram model. During this coaching you will learn a lot about yourself as well as the Enneagram, the nine Enneatypes, the subtypes, the Enneagram as a process model and the Energetic Enneagram. The Enneagram brings depth and humour but also teaches you to look at others differently, and with more compassion. You will recognise several “types” of people that you encounter in your daily life. The model facilitates healing and teaches you to embrace the events that have made you who you are, the light and the dark side, the good and bad. But above all, this Enneagram coaching brings you closer to your essence and your life purpose.
Mentorcoaching - Ready to apply for your international coaching certification by the ICF (International Coaching Federation)? With my knowledge as a coach and trainer, I can and will support you as your mentor while you obtain this diploma! My ICF PCC certification meets the requirements of the ICF, supporting you to obtain the certification. A basis of coaching experience is required for this.
Apprenticeship - The apprenticeship program covers a period of six months, including a weekly meeting. During the intake you clarify what personal development you envision for yourself. We will build the outline of the Apprenticeship based on this conversation, and it will take you beyond what you know now and able to do. With knowledge, wisdom, philosophy, life experience and assignments created for you, it is my intention to guide you in this unique process that allows you to take your next step. Your life (both body and mind) will develop to a higher level. In this next new phase in your life, I will support you to ensure that you are operating in your greatest strengths, a place where you are loyal to yourself and your vision. You will experience more satisfaction, self-love and depth in your life, as well as in your interactions with others. During this process, I work closely with different trainers, coaches and body-workers that are specialized in different techniques, which I know will enrich your overall experience. This program is designed to fit your needs, to cater to who you currently are and who you want to be.
For companies I develop tailormade trainings. Alone or in collaboration. Possible topics include a new vision and mission for the company, inspiring leadership, better communication between colleagues and awareness of the impact of our behaviour. How can I respectfully confront others to achieve results, and also implement lasting change from the lessons that have been learned? These programs are transformational and experiential. See also Coaching Essentials, a powerful transformational coaching program designed for people who manage.
Coaching Essentials is a powerful transformational coaching program. It is designed for people who manage: managers, teachers, and anyone interested in the mastery of coaching leadership. You develop these essential coaching skills and competencies and also learn to facilitate trainings. You will also discover a deeper level of who you are and will become more aware of all the qualities that you possess. Transformational leadership and coaching function at this level of way of being. Trust, respect, equality and connection are always present.
What you will learn and discover in Coaching Essentials:
The use and appropriation of the fundamentals in coaching.
The development of key coaching competencies.
Experience-based learning and receiving of feedback that helps to ground you, and facilitate the implementation of what you have learned in practice.
The enrichment of your listening skills and the improvement of your ability to ask effective, powerful questions.
Awareness of Self.
The clarification of your vision of the world and of the contribution you want to make: your essence will (further) unfold.
What you do matters! is a results-oriented school program for, and about young people. Awareness of the impact of behaviour and recognition of who you are, are the pillars of this program. What you do matters! teaches young people to stand strong in life by experimenting together in a safe environment. In addition to learning about mathematics, English and history, it also focuses on the subject of life.
As well as my love for coaching, I have another passion, interior design. The connection is easy to make: bringing to the front the internal beauty of people as well as designing the interiors where people live. Both relate to the "interior". Home and being at home in ourselves.
The Enneagram coaching allows you to reconnect with your heart, and (re)discover your life purpose and essence. A beautiful coaching process that will guide you through all of life's stages. Starting in the present and moving toward the moment of conception. You will leave behind the experiences and emotions that no longer serve you and experience the feeling of coming home.
Home is where the heart is.
By linking the Enneagram to living, I have found the optimal mix of feeling safe, coming home and showing your unique personality. To yourself and to others by how you decorate your home. The house of an enneagram type 5 has in my opinion a different style than and type 3.
Are you ready to start this extraordinary process? Besides working on yourself, transforming your house as well? Discovering together the ideal match. From my personal passion I can advise you and create with you a place where you feel at home.

Julia was the trainer during a training where I had to come out of my comfort zone, something I didn't want to. The well thought- out exercises offer a context for experiment and action, but the real work happens inside, in suppressed parts on ones being. Julia created a safe environment for this to happen. She insists that you take the responsibility for your own change and development, but also understands how hard this is. She was open and honest. Sometimes, she was so honest that people rejected her. Julia also accepted that. She interprets the energy and atmosphere in a group well and uses techniques that allows for a group-feeling to grow, and as a result, to create the feeling that the group is also caring for you, not just the trainer and staff. During your contact with Julia, you will always feel her strong commitment, experience and theoretical background. She likes change, is inspiring, enthusiastic and has an excellent memory.
For me, JULIA enabled big changes in a small number of sessions. This can be attributed to Julia's golden combination of life and on-the-job experience, supported by an unmistakable amount of knowledge in various fields. Various approaches are used that allow your own insights to shine through. In addition to being a very warm person, Julia is also very sharp, in the good sense, actively involved and is able to set concrete and measurable goals and achieve results. Both personally and professionally, I feel that her support has helped me to grow in a sustainable way. I enjoyed my time with her and am thankful for the experience.
The months after Julia, were twice as good.
Hugo de Groot, the school where I work as a Dutch teacher and mentor for students in the graduating class, takes its students very seriously. That is even more necessary because for many pupils the Dutch language is not their mother tongue.
Last year, the school offered additional classes, with lots of exam trainings on non-school days. These additional trainings were facilitated by teachers as well as outside experts. Additionally, the director of the school, Mr Eric van 't Zelfde, offered the graduating students a two day course to create more trust and understanding of themselves. If you learn to appreciate yourself more, you are better equipped to deal with high demands and expectations,of for example a final exam. If a person realizes that they matter, it has profoundly positive impact on their overall being. The mentors also participated in the workshop, so I know what I’m talking about.
I am reminded of my experience with Julia and the group on a daily basis, I see the results in both my students and myself. To focus on the human side of education for two days, to recognize and deal with feelings, seek support and to find each other. To take an interest in the classmate beside or behind you and to be prepared to offer them support. To view your class as a group of allies, working towards a common interest. Together we are stronger, bringing everybody together.
Of course, these aspects are important in the whole school atmosphere, tutor lessons, school trips, celebrations etc., but never as intensely as during the two day course which included meals and evenings. Julia and her colleagues succeeded in transforming initial hesitation or fear among the participants into trust and confidence. This can be attributed to the sophisticated structure of their program and their very involved and intensive supervision.
Nobody fell out of the boat. Sharing with full emotion about something dramatic that has changed in your life and finding support in the group, and then a section that allowed for physical expression, of a film clip: the constant change made the intense days seem less heavy. The intimate theatre space, plenty of food and drinks and a walk together to Rotterdam South to the Pancake Boat, also helped to keep everybody energized.
I still see the results every day, I wrote. From the training until the festive moment of Certification I saw more consistency in my group, I could more easily start a conversation myself and relate to what we had experienced together. Sometimes, one word was enough to move forward. I witnessed how the individual support that Julia was giving made the students stronger. "What you do matters," stayed with me and I saw that students with low self-esteem discovered that they are valuable and worthy, just the way they are.
There was one group of students who initally at Christmas time did not seem to have much of a chance to succeed, and yet they ended up passing convincingly in July. The students were able to do this themselves; they made summaries and did math assignments together in the local gymnasium. And they all ended up passing. The brave decision of the director to pull them out of their normal classes for two days to participate in this intensive workshop definitely helped.
And that was Julia’s workshop. She is still guiding some of those students, because life begins with a diploma.
For most students and for me as a mentor, the final year was split into the part before and after Julia. I thank Julia and the staff for that extraordinarily rich part after. The part that is twice as good.
What you do matters! 2-day, February 2012, Walhalla, Rotterdam.
When I first heard about the plans to do a "What you do matters!" Program with the graduating class in the middle of the year, I had my doubts. It seemed to me a 'dangerous' time, the middle of a final course, to do such a major project with our fragile exam students. It could just as well have a negative effect if students came out of it more insecure and unmotivated. Moreover, I found it also quite challenging for myself because the mentors would also participate in the program.
In retrospect, I can say that it was a very special experience and I am glad that I was there. As a teacher and mentor I have always considered it important to maintain a good relationship with pupils, to know them and being able to interact respectfully with them. In the two days of WYDM, I learned what it means to really know students: knowing what they are involved in, what their life outside school is like, what their background is, what their dreams and aspirations are, their uncertainties and fears, their view of life, their training, the people in their lives, from close relatives to their teachers at school. These 2-days made me even more aware of the fact that as a teacher, you must deal with all of your pupils as individuals in a way that suits them and fulfils their needs.
What struck me was that many students quickly gave themselves to the program (although not all parts were embraced with the same enthusiasm). In a short time, a sense of security and trust between mentors and the students was created but also among the students themselves, which meant that everyone had the courage to be him/herself and was respected. This gave students the confidence to show more of themselves; 'silent' students were talking, insecure students dared to join in, 'machos’ allowed themselves to show their vulnerable side. There was sharing of (sometimes very) personal stories, these were listened to, there was laughter and crying, there was movement and dance, etc. There was a bond, which gave everyone a good feeling. Students learned more about themselves and they will carry the insights that they gained with them through the rest of their lives.
It is difficult to prove because it is not measurable, but for many students WYDC made a significant contribution to their successful completion of their senior year.
Firstly, HdG students, through participation in the "What you do matters" program, were able to share personal experiences with their peers. It was quite a n eye-opener for a some of them to learn that they are not the only ones with doubts, sadness, anger and pain. As a result, they felt connected to each other and that gave them a sense of confidence.
All students exposed something of themselves. Some, for whom this was an appropriate time, dared to make a step to clear up something that had significantly impeded their lives. For them this was a liberating moment and a step / choice to no longer keep very difficult or hindering factors a secret.
The fact that the program "What you do, matters" takes place with students from a school in which a number of teachers / adults also participate, means a lot for both the students and the teachers. Pupils get to know teachers in a different way than just as their teachers and realize that they are people with their own doubts, fears and pain. This creates more trust between students and teachers. For teachers, it really made an impression to be repeatedly confronted with the experiences of some of their students. In the exercises in which all participants were involved, as a teacher / care coordinator I sometimes found myself wondering how much of myself I should expose. After all, soon we will be their teacher again in class. I think all the teachers found their own way in this.
I appreciate that I was allowed to participate in this program and was able to see good things happen with and between pupils.
There was also a closer contact created between teachers and some specific students.
After the training, I heard a number of students say that they found the training really special and they enjoyed it. I have also seen at school that a closer group of students has been created because of the stories that came out during the training. The training will really help them as they take the first step towards a different direction in their lives.
As far as I know, this is especially true for the students that have maintained contact with the coaches after the training.
I see that as very valuable for this particular group of young people.
Valerie den Duyl, teacher physical development osg Hugo de Groot
Personally, the training has helped to gain insight into how students see me as a mentor and what they expect from me. This turned out to be quite different than I had previously thought. Furthermore, it brought me closer to some of the students. Because they see that you are willing to be open, they are more willing to come to you and be open about problems that they are experiencing. They also experienced during the two days that they are not the only ones walking around with problems. Furthermore, I noticed that after the 2 days, much more of a "we" feeling amongst the students was created. They looked to each other for support, which they had very rarely done before. This was particularly noticeable in the exam training courses that are given at school.
I was quite sceptical, but I would do it again. It benefitted me personally, as well as the students. I'm pretty sure that this training and everything related to it has contributed to the great success rate in school.
- Project management with more body -
I have been in the project management profession for about nine years. Each project is a new challenge, usually more challenging or more complex than the previous project. At a particular moment it is not only your knowledge or skills that determine if the project is successful, it's your ability to persevere that also becomes more important. For me this meant investing in myself to create more "body". In order to get the biggest return on investment, I started a coaching program with Julia. Self-confidence, dealing with senior management, communication at the right level and insight into points for improvement were all a part of the assignment.
In order to make the coaching process tangible, we always worked with a 'master' goal. Based on this goal, you describe step by step what you want to achieve and how . Not according to a standard checklist, but really with concrete information that describes what your motives are. This created a lot of clarity for me (also because I still had no clear picture of the domain of Coaching).
Gradually, throughout the coaching process I became more aware of my actions. Through continuous mirroring by Julia I noticed that my painstaking improvements - changed layers. And the idea was that I was going to do something with myself! During the coaching process there were also various themes / topics introduced to increase my awareness. Examples included: my view of the world, which was clarified by the use of the Enneagram model.
During the process I regularly reflected on my master goal, which helped me to realize that I was getting closer to it while also realizing that some of the constraints that I struggled with were becoming less and less present.
My coaching process was ultimately concluded in 16 sessions. We deliberately chose for less frequent sessions, approximately every 3 weeks, to ensure that the "student" had enough time to embed / apply. In the middle and at the end of the coaching process, I prepared evaluations. I was positively surprised about my own conclusions, improvements and the positive feedback I was receiving from my surroundings.
I was able to see Julia in action for a longer period as a trainer and coach. In both roles I experienced her as a person who has deliberately chosen this profession and does it with dedication and passion. Regardless of what the coaching question is and regardless of what people want to be trained in, she is always 100% focused on the goal: to support people to achieve their desired results, individually as well as in groups. In accordance with her love for the coaching profession, she will do everything in her power to help people take the next step in their development. A few of the characteristics that make her such a powerful coach/trainer are: loving, empathetic, competent, driven, inspiring, and results oriented.
I know Julia as a professional and inspirational coach, and at the same time as an engaged and generous person.
For two years, she has coached me in a pleasant way regarding both my work and private life. During this time I have been inspired, time after time, to discover the true essence of myself. The most important results have been achieved with the aid of the Enneagram. As a certified Enneagram Coach, Julia has helped me in an extraordinary way to be more open to my emotions and to acknowledge challenges from my past to transform myself into a powerful personality. Julia has, throughout this process, helped me in a respectful and simultaneously results-oriented manner. As a result, I have learned who I am and what my purpose in life is.
Julia continuously develops as a professional by following trainings and she has an extensive range of coaching models. She carries out her coaching based on principles such as commitment, abundance, resilience, excellence and service. During her coaching she shares her own experiences and gives advice when I need it and ask for it, which challenges me to take the necessary action myself. The coaching that I receive from Julia is what I consider to be the most valuable action in my life so far.
I experience Julia as passionate, energetic and creative. Particularly when working with young people, she is authentic, connected and interacts with them in a very natural way. During the 'what you do matters! "program, Julia knew exactly to touch the right spot in their heart to get them to open up. This caused the young people with whom Julia worked to become aware of their own capabilities. She dared them to go forward under their own leadership and to take responsibility. Julia is driven, and strives towards a collective goal.
Working with Julia is very pleasant and I enjoy her openness and loving strength.
Julia,
I was so happy that you wanted to give the training in Dutch.
I was so happy with you just as you were ...
Open, tight schedule, not complaining, loving, critical, power, driven, stubborn, insight into people, constructive, sharp and professional.
I am, and will remain your fan.
I met Julia in October of 2010 via a mutual friend. I was visiting Europe with a few friends, who happened to be colleagues. To be more specific, one was my partner and business partner Gerardo. I had explained to the mutual friend between Julia and I that we were having a few issues in our business and personal lives, and that I thought Gerardo would benefit from life coaching. On a sunny fall morning in Amsterdam, an informal lunch was arranged. That lunch, which transitioned into the afternoon, and evening, changed my life, my relationship with my partner and my business forever!
What changed you may ask? On a very personal level I was hoping to give the gift of change to someone else, but what I did not expect was that I would give that gift to myself. I can still remember the specific point, and exact words, that clicked with-in me, to create an awakening, allowing me to look at my world in a different way. Prior to that meeting, I had always taken everything very personally, to heart. Julia said “It’s not about you. It’s about where that other person is at that very moment.” With that phrase, my world changed.
After a month of much needed vacation, we returned to Costa Rica and I began coaching sessions with Julia, via SKYPE. The day spent with Julia in Amsterdam, pared with recharging my batteries with a much needed vacation, allowed me to focus, look with-in and see where I could use some help looking at things in a different way. What I realized was that coaching was the perfect tool for me to see life, and specific situations in a new light. We often try and fool ourselves, believing that our personal and professional lives are independent of one another, when in reality they are interwoven and at times inseparable. After a few sessions with Julia, everyone around me could see the changes taking place. I felt a burden had been lifted. I was so impressed with the changes in myself, that we invited Julia to Costa Rica to do a corporate workshop for our Real Estate firm.
Our corporate coaching started with a full day workshop on “Abundance” were we invited colleagues and clients to join us. It was well organized and fun, light at moments, and heavy and hard hitting at others. There were smiles and tears, and every other emotion under the sun. It allowed us to show our colleagues and clients that we are honest, strong, and direct but also open and human with feelings like everyone else. Needless to say, the workshop was a big hit with everyone! All who attended called and sent e-mails thanking us for hosting the workshop, and saying how impressed they were by Julia. Many arranged one on one coaching with Julia as a result.
Next we continued working with our office staff, first as a group, then individually. We defined our individual rolls at our company, Pure Life Development, set boundaries and created goals. We organized every detail of the business and addressed issues in how we interact as a group. As a group, we communicated openly, and “broke through”, leaving the conflict behind, opening up the lines for creative communication. The atmosphere in our office changed immediately. Everyone took their newly defined rolls with pride, and renewed vigor. We actually began to communicate in a productive way. Creative channels opened and new ideas came on a daily basis. The change was evident and attracted a new, positive attitude from the outside world. Our clients and colleagues commented and treated us differently. As a result, our business increased dramatically.
On a personal note, I want to say a few words about the spirit, residing in a woman’s body, who’s name is Julia, that changed my life. From first meeting, you will feel welcomed into Julia’s space with warmth and caring. The compassion and love that flows from her is evident, creates trust, and puts one at ease immediately. She makes you feel “at home”. Julia is grounded, strong and intelligent. She is encouraging and has a natural intuition allowing her to get to the point and the heart of the matter. In a tender way, she will ask the hard questions that one must answer for personal growth. She will have faith in you, even when you don’t. Julia will encourage and inspire you to be a better person and to be all you can be. She will show you how to use your God given tools and talents to better your personal and professional life. It was a blessing to find Julia, and an honor to call her friend. Julia and I are connected on a much deeper level than the physical world. My life and business are richer and stronger because of her. Thank you Julia!
With love, respect and admiration.
Julia can proudly and justly wear the title of “coach”. She has all the ingredients within herself that every good coach should have. She listens, is direct, open, honest, intuitive and always asks the one question that we have not asked ourselves. Moreover, she approaches things with lightness, so you have the feeling that you can say anything. During the Enneagram coaching that I had with her, she really made a connection with me that made it possible for me to look at myself in a different way and look for new possibilities. In short: an exceptional coach!
My personal growth during the sessions has been great and Julia has really helped me to understand what is really important in life, what gives me energy, and where my needs are (both personally and professionally).
Julia knows exactly which questions to ask, based on her strong intuition, and is able to accurately identify your personal growth path. She does this in a very sophisticated way, where you feel that she has not determined the path for you, but rather has provided with the right insights so that you can choose the path yourself. As a result, personal growth occurs in a very natural and sustainable way.
Her tips for extra reading material and / or video material reinforce the road to personal insight and growth. Her professional engagement was also something that I valued, as well as her willingness to look very broadly at what a person’s needs are. This was, for me as a client, centrally important.
I have known Julia for many years now, my admiration for her as a former colleague and good friend has grown continually during this time. I particularly admire her drive to learn, enthusiasm, positivity and hands-on approach. Julia is a go-getter, she listens to her surroundings and dares to make herself vulnerable. Because of these qualities, she is able to very quickly create a safe and trusting environment as both a coach and trainer. Julia is not afraid to take risks, also during a coaching or training project. This makes her one of the best coaches and/or trainers that you could wish for.
As a participant in one of her courses, you will be invited to actually participate. The obvious way in which she brings this forth is so natural and disarming that any resistance or uncertainty disappears. As a result, participants get a lot out of her trainings. The same applies if you are being coached by Julia. She knows how to create an environment where you can search, try, and explore. Julia is a master at analyzing you as a person by listening to what you say and also to what you do not say.
Julia sees each individual as unique and as being capable of becoming whatever they want to be. Julia views things from a different angle, and as such, is able to see things in a person that they may have not recognized themselves or dared to acknowledge.Julia inspires and motivates others to do so also. As a coach, she encourages people to discover themselves, what they want and what they can do. Based on this, she develops a clear framework to help them best achieve their desired results.
I have been fortunate enough to have Julia as my coach for the last 8 months. To put it quite simply, it has been a truly life-changing experience for me. Julia, as a person, is incredibly insightful, kind and open. Her approach to a coaching project is always customised and based on what she feels the needs of the client are at that particular moment. When my needs changed, her approach also changed, her adaptability is also one of her greatest strengths. I always look forward to the sessions, I often enter them feeling heavy, stressed or overwhelmed...I always leave them feeling purified and energetic, ready to take on the world again! The positive impact of these coaching sessions is not limited to my performance and well-being at work, they have also had a profound impact on my personal relationships. I believe that these sessions have made me a more secure, productive and balanced individual, I intend to continue with Julia for as long as she will have me. I recommend her highly and without reservation.
Julia was my mentor coach during the certification process for the ICF. She coached me during this process, and also afterwards on coaching skills, attitudes, principles, values, discussion and independent management of a coaching practice. I know Julia as a reliable, loving, powerful, bold and respectful woman, who, thanks to her direct approach, stimulated me to make very large steps. I can proudly say that she is "my idol" and I commend her warmly as (mentor) coach.
How do I know Julia:
I know Julia from different trainings, that she co-facilitated. I remember her sparkling eyes when she acted as a translator for an American trainer. Then in the Coaching for Results Training CFR, where she was bursting with energy but simultaneously created a sense of tranquility. It was during this training that we were met.
My first experience with Julia as a coach:
That was in the triad of CFR (Coaching For Results - TAG). At that time I was so stuck in my head. There was no connection between my head and heart. She made me feel that I was totally OK. That by just diving into the feeling, rather than trying to find a solution, I would move forward.
I felt understood in a very loving way. She really touched me. I can be very hard on myself. And I allowed my self to stand still with my feelings. It was then that I experienced, for the first time, who I really was.
Julia as a coach:
After the CFR, Julia went on to do other things. She also went deeper into the process of coaching using the Enneagram. This is something that really fascinates and inspires me.
Through a number of sessions with Julia, and especially going deeper into the Enneagram, I have learned to really be with my feelings and to trust my gut feeling. By providing me with insights about my Ennaegram type, she has given me more freedom and peace. The questions that she asks give me insight, and invite me to go further inside and discover what my real truth is, rather than what I tell myself.
Julia as a person:
Julia is a beautiful woman, with a vibrant personality. She gives me the feeling that I'm totally OK, even if the things that I do are not always what I need. Because she creates that, it gives the space to simply “be” with her.
Julia has coached me for 7 months now and I am very happy. Julia is someone I trust 100% and I can tell everything to. There is, over the course of time, a bond of trust that is created. Julia is honest in her opinion, sometimes really critical, clear and even strict sometimes. Precisely this is what helps me, it really gives me something to work with. The great thing about coaching is that it does not feel like an obligation, I look forward to it and see it as something good and fun. When the session is over, I always bike away with a fresh view on things and new advice to take home with me.
Outside of the coaching hours, Julia is also there for me. I can count on her in difficult situations; it is always possible to email or to call. This is good to know and really valuable for me.
After 7 months of coaching, I can honestly say that I've become stronger and have gotten to know myself better. The coaching stays with me and supports me in the areas that I need it.
